It makes toast
I had experience with this model of toaster while using my mother in law's while she was living with us for over a year. We never had an issue with it, so after she moved out and took it with her, I ordered a new one. The first time I used it, it had a smell to it - not really bad, but enough to notice. The next 3 or so times I used it, it had a tendency to toast the top of the bread more than the rest of it. After that it started to work better. It doesn't seem to get hot on the outside when toasting, and I like the bagel setting. Still sometimes it toasts unevenly, but it's a toaster and it works good enough.
